Our Work

Turning Compassion Into Action

The Good You Give Foundation is being built intentionally.

Rather than trying to do everything at once, we are beginning with focused initiatives that reflect the heart of our mission: connection, service, advocacy, partnership, and hope.

Our work will grow as our community, partnerships, volunteers, resources, and capacity grow.

Right now, this is where we are beginning.

The Battle Initiative

One Person. One Connection. Someone in Your Corner.

The Battle Initiative is The Good You Give Foundation's developing one-to-one mentorship pilot program.

It is based on a simple belief:

People should not have to navigate the difficult parts of life completely alone.

The program is designed to create intentional mentor relationships built around consistent connection, encouragement, conversation, accountability, and community.

Battle Mentors are not therapists, counselors, or crisis professionals.

They are trained individuals willing to listen, encourage, connect, and walk alongside another person.

The pilot will allow the Foundation to intentionally test the program, learn from participants and mentors, strengthen its training and matching process, and build a responsible foundation before expanding the initiative.

Day of Compassion

A Day Dedicated to Showing Up

Day of Compassion turns one of our core values into visible action. Through volunteer service projects and community collaboration, individuals will have opportunities to come together and meet tangible needs within their communities.

Projects may look different depending on the community and the need, but the purpose remains the same:

Show up. Serve well. Leave something better than you found it.

Day of Compassion is not about performing kindness. It is about practicing it.

Advocacy & Partnerships

Building Bridges to Better Support

No single organization can meet every need and we do not believe we should try.

The Good You Give Foundation seeks to work alongside community organizations, mental wellness resources, veteran and military organizations, businesses, professionals, volunteers, and other mission-aligned partners.

We believe meaningful support does not always require creating a new program. Sometimes the most effective thing we can do is help people find the resources, organizations, and opportunities that already exist and to work alongside the people already doing good work.

For The Good You Give Foundation, advocacy means helping make support easier to understand, easier to find, and easier to access.

Our advocacy work may include:

  • Raising awareness of community resources, programs, and support services

  • Helping individuals better understand where they can turn for assistance

  • Connecting people with trusted organizations and community resources when their needs extend beyond the Foundation's scope

  • Identifying barriers that make it difficult for people to access support

  • Elevating conversations around mental wellness, human connection, service, and community care

  • Sharing educational resources that encourage people to seek support before reaching a point of crisis

  • Creating opportunities for underserved or overlooked voices and experiences to be heard

  • Working with organizations that serve military members, veterans, first responders, families, and the broader community

Partnerships That Strengthen Communities

We do not believe The Good You Give Foundation needs to become everything to everyone.

Instead, we want to build relationships with nonprofits, mental-health organizations, veteran and military organizations, first-responder programs, community groups, businesses, educational institutions, and service providers whose work complements our mission.

Through partnerships, we hope to:

  • Expand awareness of available resources

  • Create stronger referral pathways

  • Collaborate on community events and service projects

  • Support shared educational and outreach efforts

  • Connect volunteers and participants with additional forms of assistance

  • Strengthen existing community programs rather than unnecessarily duplicating them

  • Identify opportunities where organizations can work together to address gaps in support

Our role is not to replace professional care, crisis services, or specialized community organizations.

Our role is to help create stronger connections between people and the support that may already be around them.

Sometimes advocacy means speaking up. Sometimes it means opening a door. And sometimes it simply means making sure someone knows they do not have to figure everything out alone.

Future Community Walk/Run

Moving With Purpose

As the Foundation grows, one of our goals is to host a community 5K/10K walk and run fundraising event supporting the continued development of The Good You Give Foundation's programs. It will be more than a fundraiser. It will be an opportunity to gather, to move, to remember and support, and celebrate resilience. And to raise resources that allow the Foundation to continue turning good intentions into meaningful action.

Every mile can mean something.

More information will be shared as the Foundation and its programs continue to grow.
